Applied Geophysics

Applied geophysics is a scientific discipline developed to investigate the subsoil nature using indirect methods and to interprete large area features considering the spatial and temporal variation analysis of its physical properties.

The application methods are classified into two major groups: direct methods, employing artificially induced force fields and indirect methods which exploit the naturally existing force fields, such as the Earth’s magnetic field and the gravitational field.

The company Terra has developed its own Applied Geophysics branch and can afford all the aspects of this discipline:

geoelectric method
applied seismology
GPR

Some applicative examples concerning the following categories are shown to understand the potential of geophysical methods:

Dumps
Landslides
Structures
Underground utilities
Local seismic classification
